Sarah & Conor’s Wedding at Grays Court York

Amazing couple and a bit of Grays Court greatness!

So nice when you’ve shot a wedding and the guests from that wedding book you for theirs.
This is how I got to know Sarah and Conor. They also came to one of my wedding fayres at York racecourse for a chat which was great as they could have a look at my work and view my wedding albums.

Their plans sounded fantastic! Kilts and walks through York and awesome speeches. It all sounded good to me.

The morning began getting ready at Grays Court in the centre of York. Sarah and her bridesmaid Rachel were making the finishing touches and it was all nice and relaxed and coming together nicely.

After capturing all the shots I needed at the hotel I had a quick walk over to St Olaves church which is only a 5 minute walk away. On arrival the lads were outside greeting guests and looking super smart. Conor was wearing his kilt which he had made especially and he was with his closest friend and best man. They both looked the bees knees and I had to get a few of them together outside the front of the church.

Within no time Sarah had arrived and it was showtime!

The church is so old and has such a medieval feel to it. It gave the ceremony a really traditional feel to it which I know was what the bride and groom wanted.

The ceremony was in a little section at the side of the main church area which worked really well with the smaller number of guests and made for a really nice intimate feel.

After the ceremony we were all deciding how everyone was getting back to Grays court as it was lightly raining. Luckily both bride and groom were more than happy to have a little stroll through York and back to the hotel. This made for a whole bunch of tremendous photographs taking in so many beautiful spots that York has to offer. We went via the Minster and Museum gardens and some of the little side streets and of cause the front of Grays court itself with the unusual trees that welcome you as you walk towards the entrance.

The setting for the meal looked fantastic too with a long long table for all the guest to sit and enjoy their wedding breakfast and speeches. It looked just like a royal banquet fit for a king and queen.

What a great day and loads of super shots.

Congratulations and thank you to you both!

Ben x
