The Rogers Family Portraiture Shoot
After shooting so many weddings recently it was so nice to shoot a family portraiture session!
We had a few conversations considering where we should have their shoot. A back garden was a consideration but after bouncing a few ideas around we decided that all we needed for great shots was some open space and trees and shade (if it was sunny) and if it was a public space that it wasn’t full of people.
Spofforth castle was the perfect location!
Firstly, there is loads of space and not loads of people. Lots of leafy backdrops and trees and shade and definitely a location I will be using again, it was fantastic.
It was a lovely sunny morning so we made a bee line for the shade of the surrounding trees to start capturing some lovely photographs.
With kids you have to work pretty quickly and it was great to capture the fun and personality through play and togetherness with the whole family and then some separate groupings.
We had a wander up to the castle and got a few shots of the kids using the castles quirky arches to frame them all.
There was a real mixture of personalities amongst the kids. The boys were quieter and the eldest girl was a real character which worked really well and got the boys laughing and smiling.
We managed to capture everything we needed in an hour and have loads of great memories for them to cherish!
