It’s collaborating time!!
It’s been so good to have been working and assisting my good friend Vicky with some larger weddings recently.
The benefits are many as when you’re working with another photographer on a wedding it allows many more photographic opportunities such as shooting bridal prep and groom prep at the same time before the ceremony takes place. It means you’re not a 100 miles an hour all the time and can relax a little knowing that there is an alternative perspective being captured with every shot that you’re taking. Almost every moment is captured despite the size of the wedding and the amount of people at the wedding.
Also, usually shooting weddings is quite a solitary affair with it being a job you’re doing on your own so it’s great to not only have the company but it allows opportunities to learn little details and techniques from each other. The only other occasion where this would happen as a wedding photographer is on costly training courses. Even then the effectiveness of these courses is dubious as it’s never a ‘live’ wedding that’s taking place when you’re shooting.
The only downside is that there is always so much choice! Which is a great problem to have if you’re a bride and groom!!
