Amazing couple, amazing venue, amazing wedding.
It was a short walk over to Marmadukes Hotel in York’s city centre for the bridal preparation photographs this fine morning to begin capturing Jennifer and Paul’s wedding day. Marmadukes is a hotel I’ve not been to before and one I’ve always wanted a nosey around. Not sure what’s going on with all these sunny mornings for the majority of my weddings so far this year but I’m not complaining at all! A lovely morning and what a lovely hotel as well. Very quirky and boutiquey and the room Jennifer was staying even had a walk in shower and sauna which looked very inviting. Jennifer had just had her make up finished by the delightful Nikki Stannard and even in her comfies Jennifer looked amazing.
It was lovely to chat and get to know Jennifer’s bridemaids and mum’s a little more and to help keep things nice and relaxed before heading over The Hospitium. When Jennifer appeared from the bedroom in her Sophia Tolli dress she looked sensational. The dress had so many beautiful details all over it from top to toe, very elegant and absolutely stunning.
A quick sprint over to The Hospitium and it was time to catch up with Paul and his groomsmen while they were greeting guests and enjoying the afternoon sun. The lads were such great company and were just laughing and joking around the whole time, clearly all very good friends. One of the most memorable moments was Paul’s face when he saw his bride for the first time, absolutely brilliant! And I don’t know how they did it but during the speeches and taking into account that Paul is a huge Newcastle supporter, the best men had a personalized congratulation on the big screen from no other than top Newcastle striker Shola Ameobi! Amazing.
The evening entertainment was provided by the band The Players who rocked the place and got everyone dancing. Weddings are always long days for kids but as soon as the lights start flashing and the music begins they seem to find a second wind, even if it is short lived as you’ll see them an hour later crashed out and asleep on mum or dad. Great fun though and loads of special moments captured.
Thanks so much and congratulations guys!
