Who doesn’t love the smell of a big fat juicy steak sizzling away? Me neither.
When I get the chance to shoot some food photography I always jump at the opportunity.
So the Whippet Inn bobbed into the studio for some new shots to launch their new menu and their new website and also to have a few stock images for online campaigns. With Martin the restaurant owner and his head Chef assisting with the preparation and presentation meant we had a few different eyes on the set ups and the detailing. It’s always hugely beneficial to have the Chef on hand making sure the meats look as they should and the correct spices and accompaniments are presented together correctly.
All the props were provided by The Whippet and you can never have enough props with food photography even if you don’t use them all . They have such a great selection of amazing red wines to go with their delicious steaks it’s untrue! Most I’ve never heard of and usually with cool quirky names.
We even had a blowtorch moment which every studio session should have and involved us sourcing a blow torch to add a finished look to one of the steaks, of cause all health and safety procedures were followed and we are all fully qualified blowtorch operatives.
As you can see from the results all the effort were well worth it and the photographs all look good enough to eat!
A fun shoot and the time just whizzed past and I can’t wait till the next project and the chance to work with The Whippet again.
